Yukino Sonoyama's Bless manga is inspiring a live-action adaptation which will stream exclusively worldwide on Amazon Prime Video next spring. Naniwa Danshi idol group member Ryūsei Ōnishi is starring in the project as Aia, and Ōnishi prepared before production started by visting Shiseido's real-life makeup academy SABFA.
Izuru Kumasaka (2018's Tramps Like Us) and Maki Tomita are directing the project, and Satoko Okazaki (live-action My Dress-Up Darling, episodes of Laughing Under the Clouds, Tiger & Bunny, live-action Waiting for Spring) and Ichirō Kusuno (Sushi Police, live-action Tokyo Ghoul) are writing the scripts. Shiseido Beauty Creation Center is overseeing the makeup in the production.
Amazon MGM Studios is presenting the project, and C & I Entertainment is producing. Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English and it describes the narrative: Sonomaya made its launch the manga in Kodansha's Shōnen Magazine Edge magazine in 2022, and the series now runs in Monthly Shonen Sirius. Kodansha will publish the ninth volume on October 8.
The manga has more than 1.25 million copies in circulation. Kodansha USA Publishing dropped the manga's seventh volume on February 10. Kodansha is also releasing the manga digitally on its K MANGA service.
