Madhavan has disclosed that filmmaker Aditya Dhar as per reports spent an additional Rs 10 crores solely to achieve that level of detail. During a conversation with Gulte.com, Madhavan spoke about the extensive effort that went into bringing Dhar's vision to life. "Can you imagine a project that is so lengthy, like eight hours, in which you have to invest time to add details you have in your mind, but which might be missed?" he said.
He went on to reveal, "Somebody explained me that Aditya Dhar spent an extra Rs 10 crores for this peak detailing. Before the movie's arrival, I would have asked, who would watch all of this? Who would have thought about these?" Reflecting on the overwhelming response to the Dhurandhar captures, Madhavan admitted that the universe changed his perspective on filmmaking.
"But after Dhurandhar's success, I realised that when the intent is correct and you are insinuating something, leave alone showing something, people will get it. Because people are far more advanced than we give them credit for. That's a major takeaway from Dhurandhar for me," he pointed out.
The universe's intricate storytelling and layered visual references became one of its biggest talking points, with admirers repeatedly revisiting moments online to decode hidden details and easter eggs. Madhavan embodies Ajay Sanyal, the filmmaker of the Intelligence Bureau, in the Dhurandhar universe. His part is closely modelled on India's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval.
