He eventually got an opportunity to meet Varma and filmmaker Puja Kolluru after people he had previously worked with recommended him for the project. "I was really chasing Prasanth Varma after watching Hanu-Man.
I really wanted to work with him," Jitin said, adding that people from a Telugu movie he was working on helped connect him with the Mahakali team. He further expressed gratitude towards those who introduced his work to Varma and Kolluru and helped facilitate his meeting with the filmmakers. Jitin began shooting for Mahakali last year and said the movie is now nearing completion.
He also spoke about what attracted him to his part and the filmmaker's approach to the material. "What really got me thrilled for the part was the filmmaker, Puja's vision for it. She spoke so passionately about its possibilities and the novelty with which she wanted to present this part," he said.
Describing the part as demanding, Jitin credited the movie's various departments for supporting him through the process. He also expressed confidence in the project and its approach to the genre. "I am sure this movie will be a benchmark in this genre.
Prasanth, Puja and PVCU will be a force to reckon with when it comes to this genre," the performer pointed out. Mahakali is part of filmmaker Prasanth Varma's Cinematic Universe, which began with Hanu-Man.
