Hasbro isn't the first significant toy maker to try its hand at an electronic Master Sword. Bandai offered its own Master Sword "Proplica" in September 2024.

Tears of the Kingdom was initially delayed from 2022 to spring 2023 to extend development time. The game sold over 10 million units worldwide over its arrival weekend, making it the fastest-selling game in the history of the universe.
