The buzz around Anjana Sukhani reveals she and Irrfan Khan studied at the same Jaipur School: “He was a great artist with intense eyes” refuses to die down. From social media chatter to box office projections, everyone in the industry seems to have an opinion — and the latest update only strengthens the conversation.
The Story So Far
Add as a preferred source on Google Anjana Sukhani fondly remembered her association with the late Irrfan Khan, recalling not only their experience of working together but also the surprising discovery that the two had studied at the same school in Jaipur. The performer, who was recently seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga, had earlier revealed major screen space with Irrfan in Sunday (2008) and later in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster makes a comeback (2013).
Speaking about her memories with the celebrated performer, Anjana disclosed that she only learned about their common educational background while the two were shooting for Sunday. Their conversations on set eventually led to the realization that both had attended St. Paul’s School in Jaipur, something she described as a pleasant surprise and an instant point of connection.
“Irrfan is also from Jaipur, and he'd also been to the same school that I've been to. I came to know about it quite later when we were having a conversation while working on Sunday and even during Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster makes a comeback. I did a track in that but I had very little interaction with him.
We'd used to sit and chat during 'Sunday'. And we realised that we'd been to the same school in Jaipur, St. Paul's,” shares Anjana.
Although Irrfan was several years senior to her in school, Anjana said the revealed background gave them something meaningful to talk about during breaks on set. She also recalled enjoying every opportunity to observe him as an performer, describing it as a memorable experience. “He was a super senior to me, but just the idea that there was something common between us was like a nice talking point.
It was wonderful to watch him,” she shares and admits that the entire industry misses the personality that he is. “He was a great artist with intense targets; he didn't have to say much, his targets did all the talking,” she expressed admiration towards Khan and simply concluded with “Everybody misses him a lot for sure.” Irrfan Khan, regarded as one of Indian silver major screen’s most accomplished performers, continues to be remembered by colleagues and admirers alike for his understated yet impactful performances.
Through her recollections, Anjana highlighted not just their professional collaborations but also a personal connection that made working with him even more special. Her memories serve as another reminder of the lasting legacy the acclaimed performer left behind, both through his remarkable body of work and the impression he made on those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.
