The anime world is buzzing, and Sekina Aoi's Asobi no Kankei Novels Get Manga Adaptation has become the centre of attention. With fans across the globe debating every detail, this latest update is one that no otaku will want to miss.
The Story So Far
The 18th issue of Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine disclosed on Friday that Sekina Aoi's Asobi no Kankei novels will get a manga adaptation by Koruri in the next issue on September 25. Kurehito Misaki is credited as the part designer. The narrative follows dropout Kotarou Tokiwa, who is a substitute manager for the board game cafe Kurumaza.
He falls in love with his coworker Mifuru Takanashi, a fashionable girl with no love for board games. Unfortunately for Kotarou, Mifuru has a boyfriend. He invents an imaginary girlfriend to hide his crush, who turns out to be a regular customer of the store.
Kadokawa's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint publishes the novels with illustrations by Misaki, and shipped the fourth novel on August 20. Aoi and Ryō Tsuzura made its launch the My Crush’s Crush (Boku no Suki na Hito ga Suki na Hito) manga in Hakusensha's Young Animal Zero magazine in November 2022. The seventh compiled book volume shipped in Japan on August 28. Yen Press licensed the manga.
The series is inspiring an anime. Aoi and Sabotenn launched the Gamers! Tsubasa Takahashi launched a manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in October 2016.
The series inspired a television anime adaptation that made its launch in July 2017. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. Funimation streamed an English dub and dropped the series on home video.
Aoi's previous Seitokai no Ichizon light novel series inspired The Student Council's Discretion television anime series in 2009, and the Student Council's Discretion Lv. 2 television anime series in 2012. Sentai Filmworks dropped the first anime on home video in March 2015, and dropped the second anime in May 2015.
