The Story So Far
Bandai Namco Filmworks showcased the first full promotional video and fresh frames for the television anime of Kaeru Chōhōkiteki's Witch and Mercenary (Majo to Yōhei) light novel series on Wednesday. The video announces more cast and staff members, as well as the anime's April 2027 first screening date. The anime will first screening on NTV and 29 other affiliated channels as well as on the satellite channel BS NTV in April 2027.
Yuri Noguchi as Isana Gihon, a swordmaster (adventurer rank 2) nicknamed "Snow White" Hiromu Mineta as Alan Clows, a swordmaster (adventurer rank 4) and party leader Haruka Shiraishi as Elicia Armel, a mysterious staff-wielding adventurer (rank 3) The previously disclosed cast members include: Seven Seas Entertainment releases the novels in English and describes the narrative: Shinpei Ezaki (Vivy -Fluorite Eye's track-, Hanebad!, Monster Strike The movie) is directing the anime at 8-Bit.
Taishirou Tanimura (Ace of Diamond, Sakura Trick installment scripts) is in charge of series scripts, Keita Matsumoto (Bungaku Shōjo movie, Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-, Shining Hearts) is designing the characters, Akiko Fujita (Dorohedoro, The Elusive Samurai, Jujutsu Kaisen) is the sound filmmaker, and Rei Ishizuka (A Couple of Cuckoos, With You and the Rain, PriPara) is composing the music at Lantis.
Chōhōkiteki began serializing the narrative on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in June 2021, and ended it in December 2022. Micro Magazine published the first print volume with illustrations by Bench Kanase in May 2023. Micro Magazine published the seventh volume on January 20, and will publish the eighth volume on September 24.
Makoto Miyagi launched a manga adaptation of the narrative on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket manga app in January 2024. Kodansha's K MANGA service is publishing the manga in English.
